Myst of Guatemala Act 2

Navigate eerie corridors and outsmart monsters in a relentless pursuit.

You are an investigative journalist who has been blacklisted in Boston for your commitment to the truth. Nearly bankrupt, your situation seems hopeless until a distress signal arrives from your long-lost comrade, Eddie. Following the signal, you find yourself at a mysterious Guatemalan castle shrouded in rain. As you trace your friend's disappearance, you must evade monsters and uncover secrets hidden in the rainy night using bravery and wit.

This game is inspired by the real historical event: The Guatemala Syphilis Experiment. From the 1940s to the 1970s, the US government conducted unethical syphilis experiments on unsuspecting Guatemalans, causing severe physical and mental trauma and sparking ethical and legal controversies.

Review as promised (and spoilers probably):

Much like the two previous games i checked out by you guys (thanks for providing me with all three) the game has promise and is on a good path. I will not lie, I got frustrated towards the end of the vid when you had to get into the room and fix the fuses (?) while the monster is on the prowl. He seemed a little too overpowered but then again I could just suck lol. I feel like you should add maybe an objective system so that the player can at least keep track of what they are even supposed to be doing. The jumpscares for the most part got me especially in the beginning. I will also say the AI-tik tok voice the character has is a bit off putting. If you need VA I would gladly lend my voice lol (despite never really doing VA i would be open to it). All in all keep up the good work.

Don’t stop now, you’re doing fantastic! love the game

Honestly, the gameplay feels somewhat awkward, and the AI voice-over is quite irritating. There's significant room for improvement in the jump scares, as they often appear at the wrong time. Additionally, there are several bugs; for instance, I repeatedly died in the room with the monster because it could run through the door.  Anyway here is some gameplay.

Despite some challenges, the unique mechanics and surprises in this game make each chapter a captivating experience.

Encountering the white-skinned monster was a heart-pounding moment

When is the next update? I want to move on the next chapter immediately.

Outstanding decryption and level design. I love this chapter's and the monster hiding part. I really did feel the strain!!!

Excellent sound and intense excitement, a strong sense of substitution, every second is creepy!

Wonderful new chapter ! I like the new mechanic in there about the flashlight, that's interesting. On top of that, each room design can feel like it was well designed. Looking forward to new stories.

The white skinned monster really gave me a fright! He went into the room, and I thought he was going to attack the patients, but he didn't!

This is a game I want to see more of. It was a pleasant surprise when I found the puzzle from a short free game. Wouldn't mind playing a longer version of this :)

Nice game! Simple and I like the jumpscares.

Great! I see the creator's progress in the latest chapter!

GUAtemala Mencinado SIUUUUUUUUUU

Luckily, I found the note…

Good! Unexpectedly, this game has a new chapter! Looking forward to the future.

Is there another chapter?

I played the first three chapters before, and this time the game has updated the fourth chapter. Chapter 4 has a lot of content! Really cool.

Thank you for your support!

This game had one of the most interesting mechanics I've seen in a while, and the ending was excellent! Great job!

This is a very strange journey, I believe I will find my friends in the end.

It's okay, but it's always easy to get stuck. After searching for a long time, I finally found the way to the past in the front room when met the dog.

I have played the first few chapters of this game, and to be honest it has exceeded my expectations for this template. It is great, keep up the good work.

I passed the first three chapters, but got stuck on Chapter 4. I wandered in the corridor in Chapter 4 for a long time. I could see a dog in a room through the glass window on a door in the corridor, but I couldn't open that room. I found a heart, a red cable, and a powerful flashlight, but I couldn't find a place to use them!

I have played the first three chapters, and the experience of the fourth chapter is longer than the combined time of the first three chapters. I have to say this is well done. I have seen some new elements in the fourth chapter. I can now fight against the ghosts, and I have also seen some plot elements. The scene design is decent, and the ghost chasing is somewhat challenging. It takes several deaths to pass, but overall the difficulty is not too high. There are still some bugs with the ghosts, as they often get stuck in certain places. In conclusion, there is still a long way to go.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the game. It's great to hear that the fourth chapter provided a longer and more immersive experience to you. It's also good to know that the scene design is decent and the ghost chasing provides a satisfying level of challenge. Your feedback about the occasional bugs is duly noted. We appreciate your advice and look forward to further improving the game based on your valuable input.
